Hey My cigarette lighter just stop working I checked the fuse and it was good. I bought a new one but Im having a hard time taking the old one out anyone know how to do this? I really need it cause I charge my cell phone up with it. Thanks any help would be appreciated.

 

im sure theres a nut on the back side of the lighter (goes around the whole thing)...holding it to the face plate of the radio..

 

Come on yall help me out. Ive searched but havent come up with nothing. Ive taken the radio out i dont have factory radio nothing from it is connect to the lighter. I just cant get the old one out!

From what I can tell from, looking at it, it should unscrew. I never tried, but it should pop out. I have a spare console at home, I'll try when I get there.

 

i have the same problem as you, my cigarette lighter doesn't work. one day i decided to check out how i could get it out and after looking at everything and taking some stuff apart i noticed the whole center console has to be taken out because behind the cigarette lighter there is a nut which holds it to the console. what u have to do is hold the lighter from the outside and unscrew the nut to get the lighter off. look at the above illustration and i believe hte nut is #3 which is near the lighter. it's not very hard to do. the hardest part is taking the console out.good luck.

 

Also, there are 4 fuses, make sure you've checked all 4. Although, if your radio works, then the fuses are fine, cuz they're on the same fuses.

the console's a pain, but once you've taken it out like 50 times, it becomes second nature.

 

Personally, I'd just gank the cigarette lighter and put in an s2000 push button start, but thats just me
