Does anyone have Hella Supertone car horns on their car? If so how do you like them?

Search mofo, I have like 3 threads about my hella supertones man.

Love them, they are gonna be sorry when they inspect my car, debating on whether i should warn them or not. we tested them outside of the garage, and still had to cover our ears while wiring them up, and testing the relay. They sound great, I'm gonna scare the crap out of some idiot this summer that cuts me off or walks in front of my car.

2 sets, you'll probably need a second relay for that. Wiring my set to the stock wires, with the new relay was really easy. You will never need or wanna use 2 sets, it'll be too freakin loud, my 2 are loud enough. But painting them black is a must, even though u can't see them with the bumper on anyway, it still is nice to look down and not see some bright ass red horns, at least on my car, since everything is black

Yeah yours are the reason im gonna paint them black. is it alright to take those covers off or do you have to hand paint? I was doing some research and i found a guy with a accord with them and he showed a diagram in which he keeps the positive going to the stock wiring but he cuts it and runs it to the hella relay and then the main power to the hella is run to a switch in his car so he can run the oem horn or the hellas. I already have a switch in my car from some ugly fog lights i had. all i would have to do is put a fuse on it. what do you think im trying not to rig it tho.

Yep, used stock wires and stock location for the relay, hacked off the wiring harness and installed the wires to the stock relay, works with my stock horn buttons.

Here's the hella relay with the stock wires, replacing the stock one. Mounted right where the old one was.

I couldn't get the screws to come loose, they were really tight and I didn't wanna strip the screws, so I just masked and painted. They def look good in black though

so can i just splice into the stock horn wires and put the relay right around there as in the front of the car? but do i have to run a fused wire to the battery to the relay? because ireally want to use all four so when i roll up to a meet every one in the zip code heres me haha this is what i was going to do.

85 - Ground
86 - Positive Trigger from Horn Harness
30 - Constant 12volts(FUSED) dont know what size though
87 - Positive Terminal from Hella Horn
87a - N/C(no connection)

so the horn relay is behind the radio???, and if so the next question is according to my wiring diagram for a 97 Accord the Horn trigger wire is grey... is that true???

im looking to use it for my nitrous activation, the way I plan on doing it is using a SPDT relay, get relay power from the nitrous arming switch so that when the circuit is on its Nitrous activation, then when the switch for the nitro is off itll send power back to the horns, i have it all worked out, I just need to know where all the stuff is, I was thinking of tapping the wire before the relay sometime after it leaves the steering wheel

Yes horn relay is behind the radio on the left, very easy to get to. As shown in the pic where I replaced mine with the hella relay, that's the inside of the dash behind the radio, wires look familiar?

They're loud, they're not THAT loud

I used to have a train horn in my first car, too freakin loud, these are loud and have a nice high/low tone. I could post a sound clip when it gets a little nicer, needs done outside. Next time I take her for a ride I will get one.
