Do you remember your 1st Check Engine Light?
Well, my fellow CL inthusiasts. I thought this wouldnt happen for a while. But, my first check engine light came on last night. While i was crusing on the interstate. I hit around 58,000 miles. I'm quite saddened. Acura will charge me 100.00 just to check whats wrong with it. Damn, them!
My heart dropped when i saw that horrible piss-yellow light turn on. As if it was laughing at me. This is truly a horrible feeling!
haha, anyway....just thought i'd vent.

pull out the blue wire harness which is located under the dash... put a small paper clip into the harness to connect the circuit... read engine code by counting the long blink and short blinks...
long blinks stand for 10's and short for 1's i.e. 2 long blinks followed by 4 short blinks is code 24...
then look up code. and you know what is wrong.

I got mine while I was racing someone on the highway. I knew it was my egr valve at the time, for some reason. I just had that gut feeling. Knowing that it was a common problem for our cars, I just got me some carburator cleaner, and cleaned the egr valve. Got rid of the check engine light right then and there (well after resetting the ecu).

Mine was last night as well, and im at 54 or 55k miles I cant remember. Scared me since I just got tuned up to 10psi 2 days ago and at the time it came on I had been driving hard. I did the paperclip thing and its just the O2 sensor thankfully.
