HUH?.... ok i'm still a little confused? So kyb's are struts? then do i need strut bars? or will the kyb's and springs be good enough? Are strut bars necessary or will they just improve my ride? If so, will they drastically improve my ride? Is it worth getting?
Thanks
Thanks
The KYBs and springs are all you need.
The strut bar is for added stiffness between your strut/shock towers. You car should already have a factory strut bar (at least the 3.0s come with one).

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!!
I think we need a time out.
1) The definition of a "strut" is a structural member. Meaning it bears a load. Struts are typically used on FWD cars w/Mcpherson suspension. The strut acts as a sort of upper control arm and shock rolled into one.
2) Our cars have a double-wishbone suspension. Meaning upper, lower control arms. The shocks (all 4) are not structural.
3) CLUofI, I've read your post 10 times and I'm still not sure of what you're trying to say. The damper (as opposed to dampener) is considered a strut when it attached to knuckle and the body...in a structural manner. But, you're right. A more appropriate term for shocks/struts is "damper".
4) Dustbuster already pointed out that 3.0s have strut bars. The 4 cyls have them too, so we are all covered.
5) Rothmansking, I think you need to lock up your wallet before someone tries to sell you "struts" for your car.
6) Mods, can we close this up before it gets more confusing?
