Question Disabling second 02 sensor

Well seem like I need to replace my Cat.
Check engine, P0420 "Cat below threshold", checked cat and its rattling inside.

I did a search put couldn't find much. If i disable (re-wire) the 02 sensor after cat it won't affect the ECU at all!? Could I pass smog in NY with this trick and yet not kill my engine in the long-term (140k miles and i wanna double it)!?

And as far as performance is it better a hi-flow or a generic cat. I heard that OEM cats are designed to give a better exhaust flow at highway speeds that actual hi-flow aftermarket cats. And OEM give better gas mileage than hi-flow. Is this true?

Please correct me if im wrong and suggestions on this issue, since my inspection is in a week

Thanx

That's pretty straight forward. Hi flow is better performance wise.

Generic is probably better as far as lifetime if it's comparable to oem or original equipment.

Well I've searched for Catco hi-flow cat and I saw 2 types:

bolt-on fit for $140 and weld-on for $80

are these the same thing or one is hi-flow and the other isn't

sorry to drag this thread but can't find specific info on the search and need some help soon
