Dimming Lights
Dimming Lights
Hey guys,
First off, I want to thank you guys for all the information thats on this site.
So I did a little searching but I didn't really even know where to begin so I figured I would post a new thread.
When I put my blinkers on it seems like all the lights in the car (clock, dash, etc.) dim on and off at the rate of the blinker. The dim is barely noticeable but I just installed clear corners in the front bumper and when I tested to see if the bulbs still worked, I noticed that all of the headlights and markers dimmed as well. What do you think is going on? Alternator not giving off enough juice? A short somewhere? I have a 98 3.0 CL, I did run power to an amp in the trunk.
Oh yeah, sometimes the brake light in the dash comes on out of no where. It seems to go off when I press on the brakes, and back on when I let off. But there is no consistency to when it happens. Also, sometimes the SRS light stays on a little longer when the car first starts up. What's the deal? Well I didn't search for these last few questions but I'll give it a shot.
Thanks for the help,
Chris

Blinking has been covered here. Mine stopped doing it when I replaced the alternator. Make sure your climate control is on at fan speed at 2. That helps too.
Brake light could be low brake fluid check that. The sensor is very touchy.

My dash does the same thing. Dimms when the turns are on. Alts been replaced and all that stuff. But my head lights don't. I've always wondered about that. Nice to see I'm not the only one

also try checking your battery terminals for corosion, and make sure they're tight. Also have your bat and alternator charging system tested at an auto parts store
