Does anyone know if you can mounjt a standard DIN sized deck in our cars without one of the mounting kits? I like the look of the little door thing under the radio and would prefer to keep it however the kit that I bought would cause me to lose it.

 

electrical tape them both together ghetto but it works

 

you cant see the electrical tape form the outside, can you?

 

yeah u can. i just got to modify the center consule slightly so that the metal pieces in the din can bend behind the opening. i also used a small screw to secure the litte compartment from fallin in to the metal din. ill get u some pics, but ull have to wait till march 8th or 9th when i go backl to nj

Electrical tape, ghetto yes but as far as being able to see it you tell me Oh its really sturdy too The tape is basically to hold it together just to put the thing in, then its secure

 

Do you use the existing mounting bracket from the stock radio or will I need to use the plastic one that came in the my dash kit?

 

yeah, i was kind up pissed that i lost my cool little cubby hole with the door when i put my alpine deck in.

 

electrical tape worked for me too when I had my aftermarket stereo in. I just went back to hte stcok one because I FINALLY got the CD player fixed
