SORRY for the double post, but after 2 days and no posts or even views other than mine, I'm posting this in general...wheels and tires forums just doesn't get enough traffic haha.

So anyway, as I expected, I'm getting a little bored of the 5zigens. I like the look and the fact that they only weigh 15 lbs. each, don't get me wrong, but I'm kind of thinking of switching it up...plus, after I finish my valve cover, I need a new project. Anyway, I'm facing a decision...of basically trading my wheels for 2 other sets, giving me not one, but TWO projects =) My friend, who has a CD5, is getting one of the sets this week, and already wants to trade me for mine plus cash...and the cash could pay for the other set. God I explain too much.

First set: Starform Basels. Of course you havn't heard of them, but they were originally about 300-400$ each, and as far as I know, are forged.



And olllld school Work VS's, 5 spoke. I've never successfully found the whole name of these, never seen a second set, and don't know all that much about them. But tada!:



Now for the plans. One of the sets would be painted a satin or at least low gloss black. The other I would polish, however I'm not all that positive which would be which. Soooo if you could be so kind, tell me what you think of the decision, and if I do go through with the trade, which wheels I should finish which way. Wow, a lot of whiches. Here's a picture of the current 5zigen FNO1R-C's I have for reference.

 

The volks in satin black would be amazing, but they look just like my 97 stock rims

 

I like the first set, the second -- like blackack said-- look too much like stockers.

 

i think you need a drop first?

 

Since they look like the stockers, paint them black because that will at least set them apart from other OE wheels, and leave the others as is .

IMO leave the wheels you have and drop it, the aqua on bronze is wicked.

First off, they're Work VS's, not Volks =) Second, I definately see the similarities hahaha. And thirrrrd, I have KSports in my room, just can't put on until my driveway changes (aka I move). Sooo, keep the 5's or take the two sets?

 

the second set is ugly. looks like something out of a vanilla ice video. 1st or 3rd FTW

if the blue CL was lowered to the tires, it would look muy bueno. imo.

Haha, but seriously.. Those 97' wheels are the god ugliest wheels of all the CL stockies.. There is no way I'm dropping before wheels..

 

in all honesty...i dont like any of them. if anything, id say the first set?
