Debadging Color Loss?

I'm thinking of debadging but I don't want to do it if I'm going to have to paint the trunk. Is color fading a normalcy? Are there any holes where the badge is attached? Can I do this...or does it need to be professionally done?

Your car will have faded some but it shouldnt be too noticable. The only badge that has holes behind it is the "A" The rest are just held on with double sided tape. To get them off i heated them up with a hair dryer and slowly pried them off. Then i cleaned up the residue with some rubbing alcohol. Some people like to use fishing string to remove them but the hair dryer worked best for me. After i removed them from my black car there was slight outline but then someone walked on my car and i ended up getting the trunk repainted so its perfect now. :P

Oh try the search function for more info because there are a lot of threads on this

Actually the "A" emblem on the trunk does not have any holes, its just held up by glue. The "A" emblem on the hood does have two holes and is held by two screws.

The A on the trunk definatly has 2 holes. If you are really concerned, have the car buffed after removing the badges. Fading really depends on how old the car is, and especially how much sunlight it has incountered. ie. garaged or not. I had my pin stripes and emblems taken off while my car was in after a minor accident. They repainted it for me and its perfect, but others have just buffed it out, and it looks the same as mine.

My Si is badgeless all around. Just as the CL, the rear H or A has two small holes. The body shop filed them when i had my tail light conversion done, u cannot do it yourself(removing holes). As for the other emblems, dental floss and then use a cleaner wax to remove the goo, then use a sealer wax and done. Makes the car look so much cleaner. I should put up some pics of my car on here. This weekend I will try. Jeff

think it would look cool/clean if Ijust took off the "ACURA" and "3.0" and left the "A" there since there are two holes behind it?

I agree! That would look great! I also thought about doing it that way, but decided to switch to 24 kt gold badges! Go for it!
