What do you all think? A lady at work has a Lexus SUV and the tint on that is metallic/reflective. I sort of likr that look but i don't know if it would look right.

I do care about the law cause I don't want any hassles etc. So I think I should stick with 35% range.

Whaddaya think? Metallic or dark??

I think you should stick with the 35% tint all around. I'm pretty sure that the metallic reflective tint on your driver or passenger window is illegal. On the quarter window and the rear is probably fine though. I just think it would look better and you'd be safer just getting the regular tint.....

Hmmmm, I didn't realize that.

Can you see through 30% very easily? I may be moving in the future and I want to be sure I'm legal in all states.

yeah u can see right through 30% during the day. even with my 5% depending upon the angle of the light u can see right through it also at times. if u get a metallic tint it relects sunlight much more then say black and a cop will more likely notice ur tint.

Hey nomad, my dad has the Lexus RX300 and personally i love the tint. It's more like an ominous green and reflects to where it's very hard to see inside. Also, many show cars have a transparent blue that I personally like. I'm not sure about what's illegal and what's not, but blue windows on white is very sweet. Also, my dad's SUV has only the back three windows tinted that ominous green color and the two front are tinted in black. In my opinion, the look is not too shabby. Just mah 2 cents.

yeah but the rx the glass is actually tinted isnt it? its not stick on film. i personally have not seen a metallic tint stick on film that works the same.

That metallic does look good but since I drive through several different states all the time I think I'd better keep on the low profile. I'd like to get 5% limo tint but it wouldn't pass inspection anywhere but Florida! And I don't plan on re-tinting every few years. I'll take full advantage of the lifetime warranty!

i live in jersey. how do u think i pass inspection? u have to go to a private place and see if they will pass u. as long as u never failed at a state place they prob will. u might have to pay a lillte extra. but if ur not a jerk or some cocky fuck and u speak to them nicely they will prob help u out. i know a couple places here so thqats how all me and my friends get by. but the only illegal thing on my car is the tint. im mean go check out my truck. i get that passed also. but no cop ever pulled me over in that thing for anything. hey if u want to come all the way to jersey ill get u passed. heh. they cahrge 80 for inspection though.

You can see right though my car during the day... at night, through the rear window it's a little tough, but from the sides it's not a problem. You cannot see inside with the metallic tint, which is just asking for problems if you install it on the driver and passenger window. The other windows shouldn't matter....

I think I may go 35% and 20% or less on all the rear windows. I may be moving and I know nobody that can help me out, unfortunately.


I'll be happy with just getting a good tint.
With my luck though my windows will stop working right after...

Definately 35% all around, it looks classier to have the same tint percentage on all windows (especially on our car) rather than have the back ones darker. Alot has to do with the color of the car as well. Of course it's your choice though.
