damn radio!
Ok does anyone have a list of what codes mean for the factory bose stereo? Mines reading p-e-o when I insert a cd in it. it may be p-e-3 I have to go check again when I go downstairs but how do I find out what this means?

thats what I thought.....I wonder if the tl will fit in it? Does anyoen know if the same plugs from ours will fit in other models? I hate the looks of ours I havent checked out the 99 cl one yet.....any pics of the install I want to stay factory....

i had the same shit.. replaced mine with a 97 bose head unit for 70$ i got off blackmarket in here.
the error means it cannot read the cd.. me and my gf tried 50+ cds on the way home from hollywood.. i started getting mad n every cd that didnt work i threw out the window...
i dont have pics of the install but i can take some it was a sinch... a LOT easier than i expected itll take me 10min to swap em again if i needed to

oh sorry I htought it looked dif. I searched ebay and I see they look the same I know how to install it. ANd ya I through a few cds out the window myself while driving with the gf.....Now instead of tossing cds out the window ill prob toss the unit out.....jp

i was gettin that code also. Took it to the Honda Dealer... the specialist said it's a lost cause. The repairs are well over $200... and they need to send it to their manufacturer. He said Honda doesn't even know what the problem is because they don't make them, someone else does. It has something to do with them internally. They have been happening even more so with newer stock headunits. He said the best thing to do is just get a new aftermarket headunit. Hope this helps.

i just took the stock CD player out of my CL if anyone wants to buy it. it works great and has no problems. I had a pioneer head unit laying around so i put that in my car. Just contact me if your interested and i will get some pics.

If you have a 98+ CL and want to keep the steering wheel controls, look into getting a PAC SWI-X and compatible head unit, in case you hadn't considered that when you decided to go aftermarket. Oh, and if you like Alpine head units - which I highly recommend - some of the newer ones you can hardwire with the PAC SWI-X instead of using the infrared beam to control the head unit. I know for a fact the Alpine CDA-9851, CDA-9853, and CDA-9855 will work hardwired.
