My transmission won't engage (ie: shifting from park to any other gear, it's like it's in neutral), and whle the shifter will move through all the spots (P thru D1), the car won't move! Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

BTW, the "d4" light was blinking as if to warn of something wrong...

 

Your tranny is dead.... how many miles? do you have 100,000 miles EW?

 

damn man if it is your tranny that sucks...hopefully you can get it covered by the warranty...

 

I was hoping u wouldn't say that....

the vehicle has 192000 kms.......and out of warranty....



I suppose I could try the 6sp manual conversion if the cost is less than a mortgage...
