CV half shaft replacement instructions?
i've never had to deal with this, i've never worked on a fwd car. haven't even gotten under there yet, just hear clicking when i turn. how do i install these? i've been searching and can't seem to find directions or anything. i'm guessing it's really straightforward, but, again, i've never done this.

its fairly easy.
While the car is on the ground, break loose the axle nut. Then lift the car, remove wheel and axle nut. Undo tie rod and lower ball-joint. Then using a crow bar, or huge flat heat, u want to pry the axle from the transmission case, this will pop the metal O ring that hold the axle in the trans-axle. Then, you have to pull the knuckle towards you, while pushing the axle out of it, and when its out, while holding the knuckle, take the axle out.
Putting the new axle back is somewhat similar. You pull the knuckle up, insert the axle into the trans-axle, making sure the teeth align. And then you have to put the front of the axle back into the knuckle while aligning the teeth. Then you will have to make that O ring snap into the trans-axle, you can use a mallet/hammer (making sure not to damage the threads, maybe using it with the nut screwed on the axle) or what i do, which is using the knuckle itself as a hammer, and hit the axle in :P. Put back the ball-joint and tie rod, and torque them. Make sure the axle nut is on the axle, put the wheel back. Lower the car on the ground, and torque the axle nut (crazy amount, something like 150lbs/ft)
P.S, if you feel you can't work while holding the knuckle on 1 ball-joint, try taking it off completely, but for that, u need to disconnect the wheel speed sensor.
If there is anything you don't understand, please ask.
