CV Boot how important?

sup guyz.. Just recently when I threw on a tranny cooler on the ack. I noticed soo much gunk leaking from the passenger side wheel well. All this green shit...A while ago maybe 2-3 months ago I noticed this green grunk grease all over my rim and never thought anything of it. So I guess it's been leaking this stuff for a while. How important is it to change? What happens if I just leave it?

Holds grease in the axel and keeps dust, oil, water out of it. All the grease could come out and you can fuck up your axels. So take it to some one and get an estimate of how long you can go with it like that. I recommend to get it changed soon. This is a common problem with slammed cars with higher miles.

just replace it, a replacement is about 80$ w/ core. Not sure what someone would charge to install it though. I replaced mine about 5 months back

yea, for the outsede boot(closest to the wheel) u need to remove both boots anyways, each boot is usually 18$ a piece plus the work, and then u still got a worn axle.

maybe, maybe not

the coupon book is probably 40$ for "most" cars, they always find a way to say your car isn't "most" cars. I'd just replace the whole axle honestly. How many miles do you have?

just 1 side. The whole axle cost me $80 w/ my core. Install is pretty easy, i'd say $100.
