Cut the shaft pass the bend. What to do

I just recently wanted my shifter to be lower that the stock hight, so me and a friend cut the shift shaft but when we saw that there was a huge bend in it like all of them we had no choice but to cut past the bend and weld the threaded part back on. Well, it wasnt short enough , so i dewelded it and now my shift knob wont fit cuz the shaft is just 3 mm too thick. SHould i grind it or is there a true short shifter i can buy . PLEASE HELP i have no knob on it

Get a die and tap set. You can thread the shifter again. Just go progressivly smaller thread until you get it to the pattern ours use (i know 10mm is in there but i don't know the other dimension)

well now that ur shifter is shorter... does it reduce throw? well a little becasue of the shortened stick... but the cable still has to travel the same distance... read along the threads that will lead you to other threads...

good luck.

what happen to the threaded part? When I cut mines below the bend, the bend was on the top piece so I just cut the bend off of that part and then put the two parts together.
