it could be done, but i doubt there would be any sort of gains with out the R&D that companies put into their products.

if the welder could replicate say the comptech header for allot less money you would have the benifit of the research and devellopment that was put into the comptech headers.

well you dont need to spend 500 just go on to ebay and pick yourself up an OBX header just like dustbuster4 did

honestly, it wouldn't be worth it. You wouldn't see the gains you would by spending that extra money. Hey man, that 300$ OBX deal is a fucking STEAL for what you are getting, people had been spending 1000$ for those same gains for years through comptech.

If your buddy has made headers before and knows what he is doing then yea do it. I had a buddy custom make some headers for my hot rod and he did a great job, but he makes custom headers for a living.

for stainless header it would likely cost 100$ just for the material. For quality stainless steel.

umm CJ. there is actually a lot of science and physics that goes into the making of headers. Companies do R & D for years to get their products right. The chances of having someone just randomly stumble upon these companies' secret is a very rare chance. Oh and R & D stands for research and developement.

Unless you had some schematics of existing headers to build off of, it's vertually impossible to clone any OBX or Comptech headers just by welding some pipes together.
