Aiight, this has been on my mind for the last couple of weeks. I've seen a couple of the 1st gen CL's with custom grills on 'em. You know the ones with the A in the middle with wings behind it, like this: (-----A------). Now I wanna know if this is done all by custom work, or can you go out and buy it. If you can buy it, are there any places online that sell them, or do I have to go to my local Acura dealership? Thanx in advance.

u mean this or when they put mesh over the 97 stock grill?? cuz the only way to keep the Wing on the grill is to custom paint it. as far as i know i am the only one who did all custom paint to keep the original acrua "wing" thing instead of meshing over it. also u have to have a 97 grill to mesh over it cuz it is 3 sepearate pieces. 98 and 99 arent made like this.

 

I havent seen any first gen CL's with the mesh over the A and the wings. I have a mesh grill but I removed the A and the wing and stuck an A from a TL on the grill. Are you sure your not thinking about the 2nd generation CL because they have a way of meshing the grill and leaving the stock A and the Wing behind the mesh?

thats my g/f's dads hp digi camera. its pretty good. i sharpened them up in photoshop though.

 

does anyone have pictures for the install because the powerpoint on the garage is not working and it says "take out these screws"...whats screws? pictures would really help...thanks

 

You can only mesh the '97 grill you know? Anyway to remove the whole grill it should be the same. You should see four black headed screw/bolt things that you have to remove and than lightly push on it to pop it out. If i recall correctly they're are a few clips holding it in as well but i might be wrong. You'll know when you take the screws out.

 

I see what you guys are talking about how to mesh the grill, but I want to know where I can get the actual grill itself with the wings behind the A. I think I heard someone say that the grill with wings wouldn't fit on the 98 or 99 CL's, but I saw it on a someone's 99 CL. Well anyways, if you guys know what I'm talking about E-Mail me. Also if you can't buy a grill with wings on it, is there any way to custom make your own grill?

 

Oh so you just want the grill with the wings. Well that only came on the '97 so all you have to do is go to your dealership and order the grill from a '97 or check ebay every once in awhile. I know atleast one person on this board has changed out his 98 or 99 grill for a 97 so it can be done but i believe its like 120 bucks or so.

 

yeah i sold my old 97 to someone with a 98 0r 99 for $20 plus shiopping
