I went to a local muffler shop the other day and got a quote on custom cat back piping for my 3.0. I got a an exact price of $404 after taxes. that's 2.5" piping, with a resonator and magnaflow muffler. Does that sound right? those of you with custom cat backs, how much did you pay?

 

that sounds a little high to me ......maybe....... 300-350........if even that high

 

paid 250 w/ installation and muffler. i got the apexi n1 muffler.

 

Shouldn't be more than $250.

 

around $300 for custom catback 2.5" duals.. w/ a resonater

yea, i bought my apexi n1 muffler, and only paid 100 for installation with 2 1/2 inch piping. But the muffler cost me 225. As long as you have your muffler, the installation with custon piping should cost you no more than 100 bucks. Unless your doing Mandrel bent piping, cause that is more expensive, and better too.

 

Damn thats cheap!!!!! I have the exact setup all stainless steel I paid $800.00cdn. But I didnt care how much it was as long as I could have it on my ride. You will not be disappointed it sound low and deep.

 

i bought my magnaflow off ebay, the resinator straight from magnaflow, and i had a shop put on 2.25. I think the grand total was 285.00 for everything.

 

yeah that' probably it, they'rejacking me on teh muffler and resonator. I should probably just buy mine off ebay.

 

oh yeah.. and for single piping job, they said that it's only $60

u should find more shops..

 

im getting mine this weekend. $165 for new magnaflow exhaust and exhaust installed. 65$ for new resonator and installed. total $230. brought it down to 220$

 

371 for mandrel bent and custom piping... in colorado there is probably less competition... that price is fine as long as it is mandrel bent... I got 2.25 inch so I guess that price is acceptable.

 

i had mine 2 1/2" cat back done for $70. My tenzo muffler cost me a pretty penny though. well worth it

 

I am thinking about a custom catback job on my 2.3. My exhaust it actting a little funny probably end up with the 2 inch pipe and just attach a muffler to it. What does the resonator do and where is it?

u should get 2.25 piping with magnaflow #14815 exhaust tip with resonator. hmm...i think the resonator makes the exhaust not to loud and keep the sound more cleaner and not ricey. correct me if im wrong but thatz wut i thought.

additionally I got the magnaflow muffler and the magnaflow resonator.... the clear things up.

the resonator does what it saids... it resonates giving a deeper tone.
