crazy revving in the morning

so i started up my car this morning. the temp is about 32 degs. it was idling high at about 1750rpm for a few seconds than it dropped down to 1500 and jump right up to close to 2000 and it drop back down to 1500. so this repeats itself until i decided to pull of of the drive way. once i started driving, this went away and didn't come back.

this is the second time my car has done this in cold weather. does anyone know why it's doing that?

no, that's normal, just the car revving a little higher trying to warm itself up

if you notice, once the temp needle goes up it goes away.

no, it's not just reving higher, it's reving higher than drop than go back up again. exactly like i'm trying to race someone by stepping on the gas and letting go and stepping on the gas again and repeat....

goes from just over 1500 to just under 2000. like takes about a second to go from 1500 to 2000 and 1/2 second for the drop
