Crank pulley removal?

Has any removed the crank pulley on a 3.0? I've been tryin to install a UR crank pulley but can't remove the stock piece. I've tried two different air guns and a three foot pry bar.

Does anybody know if the crank pulley bolt is reverse threaded?

Thanks

You can borrow or buy a pulley remover from advance auto parts if you have one

Man i'll tell ya... I had that same problem- i even went out and bought that stupid tool... Wound up breaking the drive...

I eventually went over to my mechanic friend and threw it up on the lift... He held the fly wheel with a screw driver while i used the handle from a jack (about 4 feet long to break it loose)... Should have seen that handle bend ... I thought something was gonna break. So i put my underdrive pulley in and found that i had the wrong belts... 10pm... had to put everything back in and put the bolt on "not so tight"...

Went to take it off again... NOPE!... Had to go to a friend's dad's machine shop who used every gun he had before he was finally able to break it w/ his Strongest... To end this story, i put it back on w/ his weakest gun, drove it home and was able to pull it off...
PAIN IN THE ASS! I would wait til it's time to do the timing belt- that's what i did.

It is NOT reverse threaded.

I had to take my junk motor to the dealer to get it off. Their impact didnt work either.

They had to use 2 five ft breaker bars and their special tool.

Go to a honda dealer and offer em $20 to break it loose and then slightly tighten for the drive home (its keyed so youll be fine).

I tried torching, torqueing, etc. They got it off in 10 min with their tool.

Thanks guys. That helps alot. Now I don't feel so bad.

I don't know why that nut is torqued so high? The pulley is keyed so i wouldn't think it would need to be so tight (181 ft-lbs).
