crack in passenger armrest

I noticed today that there is about an inch and a half crack under the leather on the passenger side armrest. I can push it up and down. Anyone else have this problem? Im probably going to take the door panel off and see if I can get to it. Suggestions would be nice. I took out the 3 screws on the armrest where the window up/down is, and i tried pulling the black peice off but it wouldnt come. Do I just pry it off? And do I need to take the woodgrain off in order to take the door panel off?

you need to remove the whole door panel then get some epoxy and some plastic, plexiglass or something to that effect then use that to bridge the crack. i had that on both doors

so by just removing the panel, I can get to the crack? Nothing else is in the way? The door seems like a bitch to get off. I rolled down the window and tried to pull the traingle black peice off but I didnt want to break it.
