A couple questions...
A couple questions...
97 2.2cl - sorry for the lack of pics, i have no idea where my camera is
Ok, the first question is about the little area where the air filter for a cold air intake snugs in. well i was driving one day and i guess one of the bolts that holds the plastic in, in front of the right tire decided to come off. While I was driving to school i heard some weird ass noise like i was dragging something. Well apparently my tire had ran over the plastic that pulls down, and pretty much took that whole damn plastic piece that covers my air filter for my cold air intake. Now, since I have nothing covering it, if I were to hit any little puddle at all, the waters gonna slam right into it. My intake is some random ebay one, and the two pipes it came with connect with fittings. Anyways, i found a little spot to fit in the engine, so i took off one of the pipes, so instead of two of them going all the way down to the bottom of the car its one straight pipe thats sitting a little in front of the battery with the filter on the end of it fitting fine.
Ok, so when I did this, i noticed the car was a shitload louder, and not in a bad way, but it definitely doesnt sound as ricey. My real question is, since the filters so close to the engine, is it going to ruin the point of it being cold air, or will performance be worse because of it, or better because its a quicker for the air to get to the engine?
Question 2
Sometimes when i'm driving, either slowing down or accelerating, the car will feel like its rocking back and forth. Any idea what that might be?
thanks, and sorry i tried explaining everything as best i could without pictures

You need a new "fender liner." Go to a dealer or acuraautomotiveparts.org
Q1: You basically turned a CAI into a SRI (short ram intake). The SRI gives you more low-end power and the CAI give you more power in the higher RPM range. It's personal preferrence.
Q2: May be your suspension is too soft? Is it a quick jerk or is it a prolonged action like a piece of jello? I know my car jerks while decelerate because of the tranny dying but i don't think yours is... maybe it's just your car down-shifting?

well when my car down-shifts, it kicks extremely hard, even if i'm not accelerating fast, and then let off the gas fast.
and its kinda like a jello type thing. my car has 152k on it so it might be the tranny, im not sure though, thanks for the info though. and yea my wheel well is screwed
