i had my timing belt and water pump replaced yesterday , my friend did the work he's a mechanic, but after he gave me the car back it was leaking coolant from where the thermostat meets the intake manifold , completely on the other side of the engine where he was no where near working, so my friend left to go back to college this morning leaving me stuck, so i caled the other guy i use and i told him the deal and he said if the timing belt is off a few teeth it would retard the timing making the car run hotter thus blowing the gasket.can this happen? the car ran fine for like an hour and it didn't get hot it was running fine. and wouldn't the car run different with the timing retarded? ne opinion would be helpful, sorry for the long story. thanx
