convertible

i just saw this guy with a convertible caddy STS.. it was DEOP... erggh... i wish there was a 1st gen CL convertible... umm.. i wonder how much is it to get it chopped...

I once saw a maroon late 80's Accord with no roof, a big rear wing, and the license plate NO1STUNA.

convertibles are nightmares.. you'd think you would lose weigh by chopping off half the car.. but actually to prevent frame bend you have to reinforce the existing frame with roll bars.. and to race it you'd need even more roll bars

There was guy in Medford, New Jersey that i saw all the time with a 2 door legend convertible. Very nice looking. I think there is a place in Cali that does it for like ten grand. they can even do four door convertibles and claim that its just as structually secure as before they chopped the roof off. they showed a 750 IL convertible that was so nice.

exactly right. most convertible models are even heavier than the hard top models (one example are the 87-93 mustangs) because they have so much more framing and reinforcement.
