Which one is it under the driver's dash?

I'm installing a 530t window modulator, working on walkthrough but not sure how to get constant power! Which wire is it coming through the firewall that is constant?


also, a guy on 2nd gen forum said can anyone say if that works for 1st gen? And if so explain it a bit more?

 

i put fogs in and a remote starte and theirs a big white wire rapped up with black tape with other wire's that is a 12v consant

x2........ if you need constant power tap the ECU fuse or something.... or tap in with the constant power of the alarm system youre adding the window module to.......... shit I got the same thing and my lazy ass paid the guys 50 bucks to do it for me.............but ive installed all my other stuff excluding the alarm myself anyways........... didnt wanna mess with the door panels.......... AGAIN

I would DEFINITLY pay $50 to have this thing installed! It's more like 200 around here though.

It's under the dash so I think it would be silly to run all the way to the alarm unneccessarily.

What do you guys mean fuse box?

 

like run the wire out of the fuse box. like get one of those special prongs and salder a wire into a fuse hole

 

Got my voltmeter out and tested it to see. there are four sockets with a prong in them in the fuse box that you can hook up a crimp on female connector to. The one you want is socket #5 here is what the four sockets do:

#1: ignition power
#2: ignition power
#3: ?nothing
#5: Constant +12v

*don't think I can't count, they skipped #4 ;-)

 

There are open fuses in your in-cabin fuse box, by your pedals
