Has anybody put on an aftermarket computer upgrade from JET or any other manufacturers? If so, could you please tell me what kind of gain you got and if it was worth the extra couple hundred dollars. Also, I mentioned to a friend of mine about getting new pulleys for my car '97 3.0. He told me it's not realythe pulleys that make a difference but the quality of the bearings that they spin on, any truth to this?

 

Pulleys are lighter and bigger. Lighter=less mass the motor has to turn. Bigger=less torque it robs from the engine to turn them.

He may be right, but the bearings are in the pump and alternator so good luck.

I have a friend with a accord V6 with the Jet upgrade... it gives a noticable boost in power... i'd say it was worth the 200 somethin bucks. The shitty part is you gotta ship your ECU to Jet to have them put it in... unless you know a Jet dealer, then they can work something out so Jet sends you an already modified ECU and you just send your stock one to them, so you dont lose your car or have to buy an auxillary ECU.

 

Do you know how much of a gain he got from the jet chip?

 

no clue... he's never dynoed his car... he spends too much money on the car so he cannot afford those little "extracurricular activities" ...kinda like me.
