computer chip for the 3.0

my car wont go past like 5500 rpm (not too sure somwhere around there) is this because its regulated? or does my car just have engine problems? if its because its regulated is there a company that makes computerchips for our cars?? if so how much do they cost?

no buddy makes chips, but it sounds like something is wrong w/ your car.

Will it not go past 5500 in only park and neutral? If so that's normal.

It's a protection thing. It's only in neutral and park so you don't blow up the motor. Completely normal, alot of cars do it these days. Just a safety precaution. Also probally to prevent people from doing 6K neutral drops

no..its not...what your talking about is a Rev limiter....so like they said, in park and N. . .it wont rev up to redline...but trust me, if u wanna have some fun, and mannually shift your 3.0, u can definitly get it into redline. . .ive also hit 135mph in my 97 3.0...so i know their not governed....HAVE FUN! BE SMART!

no governer, i've pegged the speedo and kept on going, I think I still had a few hundred RPM to go, but just quit cause it would of taken forever to get there.
