Companies NOT to order from

I had a second bad experience ordering things online for the CL. The first time it was with prodigy works, located at prodigyworks.com , who did not ship my order nor call me. They charged my card but when I finally got a hold of them I found the item was discountinued anyway. It took 3 phone calls and 2 e mails to get a refund over the course of 5 weeks.

Now about a month ago I got a ticket for not having a front plate. So I figure I dont want to get pulled over again because I have illegal tint and I dont want to risk it, plus there is the $55 fine. I ordered the bracket from partscomponents.com for $12.59, the best price I could find. The also have an alternate name of 'auto headlighst taillights'. There was no shipping added at checkout, but in the confirmation e mail they had added $10 to ship a piece of plastic weighing less than a pound. It said to e mail "Confirm order" or "Cancel order" and your order would not be processed until they heard from you. I didnt really want a front plate anyway, at least not for $22.59 when cable ties work fine, so I told them to cancel. I got my statement today and what do you know, they charged me for it even though I canceled, but they knew I canceled because they didnt send it.

What I learned is to check out the BBB site ( http://search.bbb.org/search.html ) beforehand. I didnt think about it before the first time I had a problem but I should have remembered for the plate bracket, although it was only $12 as far as I knew. Both companies were listed as having unsatisfactory records. Im screwed on the second one because it costs more to reverse a transaction than to let it be. It pisses me off that people cant run honest businesses.

I used a check card, and my bank charges a $30 fee to reverse a transaction. I still have the theft protection but this wouldnt qualify.

Better than my friend. They kept on charging his car and then it reached his over limit on his check card. The stupid lady was thinking the card didn't work and kept on trying it. But it was acutally taking money out. Every time they did it, it kept on going over the limit $300 over the limit charges that bastard of a company.
