Cold air intake

Can I get some feedback on who makes the best cold air intake for a 3.0 CL,I already plan on a K&N filter. I've noticed many just don't know if one works better than another..
Also plug wires has anyone had better luck with one brand over another? Already bought Iridium plugs. Thanks all

well the two best would either be AEM or Injen. but alot of guys get cheaper ebay intakes with K&N filters and they work just fine as well. i dont have wires yet either. but im narrowing it down to either MSD or Nology. idk what some of the 3.0 guys have, but thats what i would stick with.

Save your money and get a cheap ebay one. ive said it before and ill say it again. Ours cars dont make shit for power, you get an intake and no matter which one you get, your not gonna get more than 5hp out of it. You dont even hardly notice 5hp. Save your money and get a different mod.

bypass valve is "supposed' to protect against hydrolocking your engine. (it's debatable if it works or not, but for $50, I got one just for a little piece of mind. It's supposed to breathe if your intake loses suction, and prevent your motor from sucking water in if you ran through a deep ass 2-3 foot puddle. It's not well proven or tested, but it's nice to have just in case. Personally I woulnd't drive through a puddle that deep, but it's good to have just in case.

This is what it looks like

the CL is not a fast car unless you want to put money into it. Like turbo, or H22 swap. Alex (ayougo) did some h22/23 JDM stuff on his f23 block with some sucess.
Little things like intake/plugs/wires are not really gonna do much of anything for ya. Exhaust isnt even a big deal. Unless you do your whole exhaust, header/full catback your not gonna notice any big gains.

Yes I agree with ya on that for the most part, what weve been talking about does help the efficency of the motor which is all I'm after right now. As far as the exhaust I do want to change from stock to a header w/catback complete front to back which brings up the question is that 21/2 or 3 inch? I'm that 3 inch might be to much for the 3.0 my Z-28 had a 3 inch catback on it but it was a 5.7 ltr.

I got mine from ebay, There are a few different kinds, mine is the AEM bypass which is the only one i trust, cuz they invented it. It's an aem bypass valve, they are universal as far as cai's are concerned, just need to know the right diameter size, mine for my 3.0 is a 2.75" which is how AEM details it on their site. Keep in mind, you either need a 2 piece cai or you have to cut your intake, which is why i got the ebay intake. My AEM cai is one piece and i didn't want to cut it.
