Well, I actually made it through the weekend without the tranny going til my appt. today ...

Dropped if off this AM and they had an RSX loaner waiting. If i'm stuck with a fuggin RSX for a week i'm not going to be happy. I wanted a TSXl, but oh ewll, its better than a rented Neon lol.

Some guy from Maryland w/ a 99 CL was pulling in the service bay when i got there and he's talking to the other guy -- his car is shifting bad too. Cept' he has 106k, the advisor was telling him, we'll just change the fluid. Uhhh, start saving your 's cuz you're going to need a tranny.

hi..dropping by CL forum.. had a 01 CL-S .. tranny blown twice at 80K got rid of that baby in a hurry. have a new tsx now... not quite as fast but handle good and tranny is excellent!!!! get rid of urs and buy tsx~!

 

UPDATE:

Dealer called about an hour ago and said "the tech. didn't notice it shifting that poorly, we recommend a fluid flush/fill, $9. and that should take care of it"

Me: "Really? I don't really think that's going to solve the problem, and if by shifting "only slightly poorly" means its normal for it to jump out of gear when u downshift on the highway or it should take 10 seconds for it to click into gear from park followed by the car jumping and clunking, ok..."

Him: "well, lets just do the fluid, it hasn't been done since 28k and we recommened every 25k (!!!!!!)"

Me: "Wow, the manual says every 85k, that seems like a lot"

Him: "well in our area w/ the weather, etc. its on the more severe schedule"

Me: "ok. Call me when its done"

Meanwhile, I begin writing a letter to Client Services of Acura North America. Get done with the first page and our secretary is like "Tom, Ray Laks is on line 2 again."

"hi."

"yeah, um, we replaced the fluid and its still shifting poorly, Acura just OK'd a new transmission."

"Thanks! I guess I can cancel my letter to Acura.... call me when its done."


so phew. at least i wont have that dying after my xtended warranty is up...

Apparentlyl Acura is pretty good when u bitch to corporate, my friend just bought a TL and the bumper had apparently been (badly) repainted at some point.

Dealer was like "thats nice. buhhh bye."

So he bitched to client services, his saleman and the mgr. -- Hour after he fired off the email they called saying, please bring your car in, we have a loaner and we'll be repainting your bumper.

*shrugs*

I used to be the type of person who would just keep my mouth shut and not rock the boat, but after working in retail and seeing that other people don't usually give a $hit and b!tch and complain. Even when they're wrong the squeaky wheel always seemed to get the oil... so yea.

 

I'd love too. $$$ don't allow it right now though

I'd love a new TL (miss my 2000) (which the tranny had been replaced on)

But after having the TSX as a loaner i was very pleasantly surprised and liked it (and i nromally have 4-bangers) but wow, it was quick and smooth... hot little car.
