the leather on my steering wheel is bothering me because its starting to wear a bit, so i called my acura dealer and asked for a steering wheel for my 98 acura 2.3CL. All the guy at the parts dept could tell me was all they have is a tan 03 TL/CL steering wheel, i asked him if this would fit my car and match perfectly, and he just said "i donno". So i figured id ask some professionals and come to Acurazine for the right answer.

So does anyone know for sure if this will fit and match perfectly? (besides the fact that the '03's had preferated leather.)

 

it has been done... give your old one to alex cuz i'm sure yours is in a lot better shape than his

 

i know its been done, but will the color match PERFECTLY? im a perfection freak, that y im replacing my steering wheel cause its got the leather blemishs on the top.

 

Only the TypeS came with perforated leather.

 

i dont know what colors it came in... doubt anybody in this forum knows

My suggestion is to go and look at it. If you go, see if he will let you take it out to your car. Obviously it will not be a PERFECT match due to the fact that your wheel is almost 7 years old, and the leather will have lightened with exposure to the sun. But, I would imagine that no one will notice the difference if you get a close enough match.

I heard only the early model MDX steering wheels will fit and the newer CL, TL steering wheels will not.

u can only swap if u have a 98/99 cl... the 97 is not swappable.

I have an CL-TypeS steering wheel for sale if you are interested. Will definitely fit a 98 CL.
I had it on mine before I sold the car. Color is for beige interior, $120.
