CL + Snow...
Just wondering...
I have a 98 2.3 CL and it handles horribly in the snow. Next year, I'll most likely be going to Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY, which is hella cold and hella snowy.
Is there anything I can do to the CL to make it handle a little better in the snow?
Since I may get a new car, what are some cars (cars, not SUV's) you would recommend for snowy conditions...around 20k or so?

The manual handles decently, Im assuming you have an automatic
Put some snow tires on it and you will see a dramatic improvement
As far as non-suvs for snowy conditions around 20k: Any subaru, preferably WRX

I have YOKOHAMA all-seasons. We get snowed on good up here and the one thing we do up here when we race in the snow is E-BRAKE and power drift around the corners. I guess thats bad advice but it hella fun! Seriously thou... get all four winters and drive like Grandma.
cl+dunlop winter m3s=
in the snow. everytime it snowed i went out in my cl. never got stuck once. i could even stop on a hill and resume with no prob. i drove through 16" of snow with no probs other then having to remove the snow off the headlamps every 2 mins. never got stock once and im dropped 2" easy. best $400 i spent on my cl other then the xenons. tires really do make a difference. i would rather drive my cl in the snow then my gmc truck 4x4

all i did was get new tires last fall (nuthin special, not snow tires!) and honestly i never had a problem all through last winter... which really surprised me considering where i live -- our driveway is about half a mile long & gets kinda crazy when it snows
Definitely go with some snow tires.
I drove mine two years in the snow with Toyo's and smacked my front end in a couple of times. This year I put snow tires on and what a huge difference. It was easy driving all winter. Unfortunately, I have to fork out some cash for new summer tires.

Snow tires.
I didn't get stuck once this year since I got them.
I've got the same one's as VXCL.
Worth every penny.

Dunlop Winter M3s are awesome. Great in the rain and better dry traction then oem. Speed Rated over 100 also. even with my camber off i put 8000 miles on them and they loook brand new!
I just drove my 98 2.3 CL through the winter for the first time and I was impressed. I live at the top of a winding hill In NorthCentral PA and I never spun out once. Of course, like someone else recommended, you have to drive like Granny.
I'm running Michelin all-seasons.

Or buy a 4x4 beater. I have a 97 Izusu Rodeo 5 spd for the winter, got some Yokohama A/T tires on that bitch, its a BEAST in the snow. Set me back $2800, plus the new tires. I love it tho
