CL in the shop

My dad drove my CL today and it wouldn't start when he was leaving work. He said that it didn't make any sound like it was trying to start, but all the electronics in the car worked. WTH? This sucks. It's at an Acura dealership now, so hopefully the'll figure it out.

Nah man, my battery went bad about 9 months ago. Lights, stereo worked, but as soon as I turned the key to start, everything glitched out until I released the key to run again. No clicking, nothing, just lights, stereo, then nothing, then lights stereo again. (stereo sounded off like static in the amp due to not enough ampres to push it) Have the load checked, you might have 12 volts on the battery, but maybe 20 to 60 ampres, wich of course is way less than the 400 ampres required to turn the starter moter.

Good luck

They said it's the starter. So I guess I'll get the car back tomorrow.

That sucks. Sorry to hear it, but at least it is an easy fix for a well-equiped shop.

How much did they rape you. I think when I did mine it was like 80 bucks for the starter itself. Then 10 min of my day to change it.

But actually I had it towed to a nearby shop because the dealership wanted $95 for the starter (ok), $45 to order it ( ), and TWO hours worth of labor at $95 each.

That is why they call them "STEALERSHIPS."

It sure ain't cause they are from Pittsburg and are planning to go into space.

$45 to ORDER IT? I know that my local dealer wants to be pre-paid when they order big ticket items (>$50) but as for an ordering fee, NO FUCKING WAY. I wouldn't pay them $45 just for the ask of ordering the part. That is ROBBERY. I would check them with the Better Business Bureau. Those guys are commiting RAPE on you wallet and laughing as you walk out the door. In fact, I bet the guy takes the ordering fee and puts it straight in his wallet after you leave.
