The CL- Keep it or not?

So this semester is just about over and I have been debating on whether or not I should keep my CL long-term. As some of you might remember, it was in an accident last summer and has dented hood and scraped front bumper cover as of now (haven't had the time or money since school started to finish fixing it ) The main reason I have been thinking about selling it is because I want an Integra again. I miss having good handling and better MPG and far greater aftermarket parts selection.

Right now I'm thinking of the following options-

Fix what needs to be fixed and sell at the end of summer

Go all out and start saving for a swap, suspension, etc and just keep it

Fix it up, but keep the F22 and add some basic bolt-ons

I have already found numerous parts locally on car-part.com and craigslist, including a WW lip and an H22 in need of a rebuild (dirt cheap though)

I'm really unsure of what to do, because part of me wants to build the CL and have something unique and another part wants to get something easier to build

Keep it running and ride it til it really dies or you save enough for something better.

the f22 has just as many parts available as the ls does. Keep the cl!

keep it... i'd leave it stock ish, as it's a very dependable/good car with the f22 in it

if you want something to mod and go all out for power etc.. i'd say go with an integra then... then again i'd go with what tehvine said... just keep it and save for something better

would you really get that much better MPG with an integra? what kinda MPG are you getting now?

Why do you post this on a CL forum, do you think the answers won't be biased?

Sell it and get the Integra. I like keeping the CL community as small as possible.

i say fix it and keep it and just do some stuff with the f22, that way you're not spending a lot of money and time doing a swap

Mid 20s are usually what I get, maybe 27 on the highway.

One idea I had if do decide to keep it long term was doing a wrap on it. Matte white with carbon fiber on the roof panel. It sounds good in my head, but do you guys think it would look ricetastic if actually done on the car?

done professionally, no, i think it would look good, depending on what color your car is right now, would look dumb if you had red or something, cuz then your door jambs and engine bay will stand out like a sore thumb.
but a professional wrap i heard can cost a couple grand, which is not worth it, if you can find a cheaper solution to wrapping, then go for it, but it prolly won't work as good
so i think it's mostly a waste of money, try and put the money you'd use on that aside, to save up a big chunk for the next car
...i'm finally starting to do that, but only after getting into a higher paying position, doesn't make sense for me to drop a bunch of money in the cl now, that money i won't get back in a year or more if i decide to go a different route

good luck with your choice

Yeah those were the same things that came to mind for me as well (cost, door jambs being red, etc) I'm just so tight with my money, lol thats why I can never decide whether to mod the CL or sell it

Do what you gotta do man. I wasn't about to make payments on a timing belt and transmission job, paint, etc. so now I'm making payments on another vehicle. If you can't afford the repairs, get something you can afford.

I'd say keep it and maintain it as a daily in the least.

141k, repairs aren't really an issue for me, its just deciding what I want to do with it

Trust me, I know that feeling... For me though, it's deciding which project to go with next. They ain't cheap, and most ain't easy either so that makes the decision process that much more fun.

I say keep it though. Your car seemed pretty nice when we met up that one time. If nothing else, these cars are nice reliable DD's/backup cars. I know that my dad's driving mine around for probably a week or so while my little sister's Escort ZX2 is in the shop getting the whole front end torn apart and replaced. And the Escort has ~1/3 the miles of the CL...

BEST ANSWER EVARRRR!!

But seriously, if you really love your CL you should fix it and keep it. Personally, if I get the chance to trade straight up for a 5th gen lude this summer, I'm doin it. I know alot of Prelude people get rid of theirs for something bigger and I'm wanting the lude cause it's smaller. I might even consider a 4th gen like Dicorp's.
Or an early year 3000 GT...

keep it and use her as a DD

the CL is still a nice ride, and with the right mods (done cheap via used) it will add bit of new life into her

consider how much more will you be shelling out if you sell the CL, then after paying for another car will need to pay more to mod it up?
