CL gone, h22 question

If anyone remembers, i totalled my CL and i just picked up a 97 prelude. I hear a sort of ticking/flapping noise when giving gas and it becomes more rapid as the RPMs climb. I looked into honda-tech.com and it seems there is a very common timing belt tensioner issue with the h22's. However, it seems the issue is upon deceleration and not constant like the noise i'm experiencing. So h22 experts, any help you could give me with this issue? thanks

Not an H22 expert, but to me it sounds like it's an axel...you said that it ticks faster as you climb in speed. Same shit happened to me but first my cv boot was torn I heard a ticking but only when I made complete turns, then shortly after I heard the same noise your hearing then I replaced my axel and it was all good...but this was the problem I had on my ES 300. Hope this helped

the belt itself could have a little piece flappin around. just pull the top timing belt cover off and start it up. youll see it flopping.. also you can do a h23 tensioner swap to eliminate the tensioner problem. its spring loaded so no hydraulics to worry about. check your normal belts too. could be one of them hitting the timing cover.. they come pretty close to it.
