think of it this way, since girls apparently like to drive the cl, maybe they will like to ride in it with you also.

I still see mostly old folks driving old CL's....

as far as teenagers...our cl is just like the old legends - as soon as their bluebooks hit below 15, they start buying em'

Last year there were 2 first gens in my town, (40,000 peeps)
now there is me, a modded black one, a green one, mist colored one, a white one. I havent had a chance to talk to any of them, the black one i believe has a pro-kit, clear corners, and few other goodies.

Where i live i see old folks with cls. My car is the only suped up cl around where "i live". I live around a bunch of rich fuks who drive only the latest benz, bimmers and jags. The other day a freaking viper wanted to race me, guess its the car.

I see at least 5-6 First Gens every day. There's a mix of drivers, but most tend to be 35+ (like me)!

First Gens have become very affordable.

How is it that a lot of young-bucs are getting these $10-15G cars as there first auto? I know their not paying for them.

My first car was a CJ7 that I bought for $1000 and needed some work done to it. I bought it cause I intended on keeping it a long time, just to play with off-road. I still have it today and I'm 25 now.

I don't get why some peeps feel that thier kids need a nice car for school or whatnot. Get them a freakin used civic at the most and let them take care of it.

i agree completely. at my highschool the typical gift for a 16 year-old was either a bimmer 3 series or a jeep grand cherokee. so many kids would wreck them within a couple of weeks and sure enough they'd have a new one the next day.

I got this car when I was 17 (5 years)...Great for the time, but I don't think it was "over powered" for a teenager. I actually felt like I wanted to baby it more because of its worth. Probably prevented me from getting into alot of "would be trouble." I didn't even get in my first accident till early this year. Civics are ok...If you're a girl

Plus there's the safety factor. If I'm making 200K+ a year, I'm not buying my kid a damned civic so he can turn into a riceboy and hop on the altezza banwagon. Thats just bad PR for people around you. You buy what is within your means.

If you think getting a CL is spoiled, you should read the SupraForums about getting a brand new TT at age 16. I guess you can throw in the word "dangerous" in that mix

LoL, a CJ7 that needed some work? Isn't that like all CJ7
s, and probably most wranglers? This wasn't my first car, i had an '89 civic that my parents now drive (up to 189k miles), and I bought this car last year cause it was a good buy for a used car out of college. My springs are in the air, and shocks should be coming next week fellas, so now there will be 2 dropped CLs in the same building It doesn't help that our screen names are so similar Eugene

Yup. Too bad Comptech doesn't realize this huge market of kids wanting to supe-up CLs and release a sc kit for it.

I had the choice between a Mitsu. 3000gt tiwn turbo, a new jetta, a new mustang, a benz c-class, or a bmw 3 coupe. I picked the CL b/c i think it was the nicest looks out of all of them and it really doesnt matter to me how many horses are under the hood my buddy got a 2003 stang and my other an s2000 they both love my cl so much they wanna buy one for their toy. i like my cl i decided on it b/c it had vey good milage less than 6k and all of its features. To some of you guys dissappointment i am into ricers i wanted a hooked up accord but my parents said no it wouldnt fit in w/ the family cars well any way i got my car i like and im lookin for some ideas on what to do

I might get it done at Modhavi or at Burt Bros at Doraville (got a hookup there). I was gonna have my boy in Tally do it for me, but I don't have time to drive down there....

yeah why would you get the CL over a benz or bimmer

It sucks about how many CLs there are none. I remember when we got the car in early 97 and no one knew what it was but they loved it, ah well time to trade in

I feel you... I found out about CL's and after looking intensively, found one that I really liked. Low mileage, clean, loaded etc... I don't exactly notice girls driving them around and I don't see them as often as civics or accords. I do however notice middle age women driving them. I think its just a nice, comfortable car. THere is something weird about the First Gen's body style that could be detouring a lot of people away. I like it and I don't care about its over all looks. I bought it because its a solid car that is completely dependable with more performance and luxury than an accord...
