I went to local mechanic to fix "check engine light". He used his equipment to troubleshoot and says it's computer problem. He is unable to fix and told me to go to dealer which he estimates couple hundred dollars...

He also told me if I change EGR valve I could fix the problem. Where can I get the EGR valve and how much would it be? I tried searching in eBay but I couldn't find anything...

 

your really going to want to try to clean it out with carburator cleaner...i'm not srue where it is on a 3.0 tho

It was only a matter of time. There is an EGR repiping kit for the 3.0. I would buy the part at Honda. It should be about $95 bucks for EGR and repiping kit. The EGR is on the left side of the front head. It's a pretty easy fix if you have tools. Cleaning it out with carb cleaner will buy you an extra 30 miles before the light pops again.

You know how to reset that CEL right?

 

theres a recall up to 100k miles on the 97 and 80kmiles on the 98-99 3.0. go to the dealer and ask them if its covered.
