Center console gap
Center console gap
Hey guys.
REALLY didn't want to start a new thread for this but couldn't find anything about it searching the archives and it's been annoying the hell out of me. My center console has a decent sized gap (1/4" or so) right in front of the cupholders and before the shift column that looks like it's from somebody pushing down on the center armrest too hard. I've checked it out by pulling the cupholder out and it looks like it's held together by plastic tabs:shakehd:
The tabs are broken and I can't get the 2 pieces to stay together unless I wedge something under the rear of the console (under back ashtray). Am I alone here, or has somebody already figured out a decent solution?

make sure the screws in the compartment, under the CD holder thing are in place and there is a screw inside the cup holder that holds the 2 pieces of the console together, where that gap has formed.

just be careful! Its not really an obvious solution to the problem... but thats what my thought are on it... someone may have taken the console out before and never put it back in correctly. But if that does solve the problem, then great... If not, you may want to look into getting a console from a junkyard out of a 94-97 accord and switch the armrest.
I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!!
I just put my console back on and had that problem... unscrew it (2 screws on the side and 2 screws under blk felt inside... take off the console by manueving it up and fwd around E-Brake. The there you will see a bar attched with 2 10mm bolts... DO NOT remove it, but soimply pull it up & fwd to straighten it out... Thats where your bolts screw into so it must have pulled back by accessive accidental force (STOP HAVING SEX SITTING ON THE ARM REST!) loll..

Thanks Casper.
I'll mess around with it after I get my car back from the glass place tonight (nice long windshield crack from my trip to Vt.)
And where else am I supposed to have sex in my car? Do they make front bench seats for our cars? I wouldn't need to open the sunroof then (cold in Boston in February).
