CEL Code Pulled : P0131,P0132
Alright so i jumped the OBDII thing behind the ash tray as per the directions in the noob thread or somewhere i cant remember. One short flash = P0131,P0132, which according to the thread is a Primary heated O2 Sensor circuit low/high voltage.
how do i fix the problem.
Recent work done to car: new ALT, water pump, timing belt, unclogged EGR, seafoam.
The CEL came on 600 miles after i unclogged the EGR port and reset the ECU. I've posted about my blinkers dimming my lights when they blink, so could this have anything to do with it? I'm going to clear the CEL and see if it poops up again down the road, but in the mean time, anyone have any ideas?

honestly,
I think your ecu has had it. But that is really a worst-case.
You say the volts/amps check out off the ALT so if the system is receiving proper current start checking sensors and relays. VSS, O2b1, O2b2, MAP IAC, etc.... If you find they have the proper restistance then have the ecu checked and or replaced.
Good luck.

I donno, any more ideas, i think the battery might be starting to go. I had a thread around here somewhere about my blinkers causing enough drain on my system to cause the lights to dim. Its wierd because i have a system (JL amp + JL W7) and when it hits the lights do not dim as much as the blinkers cause. I have no idea wheather this is related, maybe, maybe not. As for the guesses on the other sensors, they all have there own codes according to the diagnostic sheet in the noob thread.

The dim lights when you turn your blinker on, or any accessory for that matter and even when your tranny shiftshappens to me too. Per some research done on the subject, it is common with our cars, and has to do with poor grounding/voltage regulation. I think .net has some group buy going on for a high quality grounding kit still going on, or you could make your own wires. They sell kits on eBay for cheap, but I heard that they are poor in quality

yeah i'm thinking that miiiiiight be the best way to start fixing the problem. I've been looking around online .net and looking at their grounding kit on there for 150 bucks. Has anyone else made one their selves? I'm in the process of trying to get as much information as possible on the kit then i'm going to try to make my own. Still, i wonder how much this has to do with the CEL. (97blackackcl, that smiley statement was for you, thanks

just used the mitchells manual, but it wont let me cut and paste the text. Anyone have any good ideas? I tried a screen capture, guess that will be my best bet, i'll have to have it hosted so we can read it, and go from there. Basically it says to reset the ecu and someother crap. i'll post it later tonite or tommorrow, but until then, let the ideas flow.

reset the ECU, drove around for about 30 miles running some errands and the CEL isn't on yet, but last time it was 600 miles before it came on, so we'll see. I'm going to start work on a ground kit and get a new battery sooner or later

I bought my 3.0 brand new in '98 and in the first few days observed the same problem with the turn signal/hazard lights dimming the backlighting. The dealer rerouted a (or possibly more than one) ground wire, and that fixed the problem.
Not sure exactly which wire(s) or how it was fixed, but it sounded like a "known" problem. Not sure if there was a service bulletin on it.

thanks, i'm going to make my own grounding kit, i was able to compile enough information and pictures from the kit to make my own just as high quality and for a fraction of the price. We'll see what happens. I reset the ECU this weekend, and it hasn't come on again yet. so far so good.

thanks, not sure if the dimming blinkers had to do with this CEL. There might have been a point that for a moment the O2 sensor was recieving a low enough voltage to cause the CEL to trip. I have since reset the CEL and the light has remained off (For now), but my blinkers i'm still having that dimming problem with. As i have said before, i have compiled enough data to make my own grounding kit exactly like the $200 one over on . I have a strong feeling i have the origional battery in the car, and start be showing signs of weakening.

pulled the code again, heres a question for you. what would i know the difference between a short and long flash?
when its jumped, i turn the key to II and the lights Test, then the CEL goes out for like a half second then comes back on and stays steady.
time to find an autozone.
