Wood is from www.autoanything.com . It's a pretty good kit.

The Venom 400 gives me an increase in power over the stock setup.

Check out this link for more info (don't buy the 25% bullsh*t that they promote; it's less than 10% gain--but still worth it in my opinion). www.customrim.com .

I don't think I ever got a real answer about the CD player...

On the 3.0 will I have to replace the amp or speakers, or just wire the new deck in?

Sorry man,

When I upgraded my system, I kept the original deck, but changed the amp and speakers. Since you want to do the opposite, I don't have any experience with this.

You may want to post this question in "A/V and Electronics". Someone there may be able to give you advise.

yo dustbuster i have to agree my venom sucked ass when i was basically stock. but after more engine mods like i/h/e/p it was like a whole new unit and it makes a big difference now. i can chirp them in 2nd with my slowmatic if the venom is active.

You can change just the deck, I've tried pretty much everything with the stock stereo... but I have not tried an aftermarket deck with the stock amp. I'd just give it a shot and see how it comes out... if it dosent work out too well you may want to try (if the deck has them) wirring the front and rear pre-amp outputs to send the signal to the amp... but it should work from the normal speaker outputs on the deck.

no, unfortunatly. I only recomended to wire the RCA outputs of the aftermarket deck to the stock amp if the normal speakers outs on the aftermarket deck didnt work well, which they should.

So try wirring the aftermarket deck just like you would in a normal car without a friggen bose system (the headaches it causes ) with a cool little wire harness adapter and see what you get... i'm almost positive it will work just fine.

there is no known output of the factory amp or deck. The deck puts out barely any power, just enough to get a signal to the amp.

The 2.2 did not have an amp, because there was no Bose system. You can run a Boston component set off the stock deck, just dont crank it too much untill you get an amp to run them. The deck does not have sufficent power to run any decent component set at higher volumes without distortion.
