Catalytic Converter

I need to replace my cat soon, but the dealer quoted me $750 or somethin like that. I saw a bunch of hi-flow cats (94-97 accord) on ebay, but are those street legal?

AAP.org has just the stock cat for $375...

any opinions on what I should do?

Pretty much all of the e bay ones wouldnt pass emissions/arent street legal. Id order a universal carsound cat online somewhere and get the exhaust shop to put it on. They run about $100 and install should still put you well below 375.

If you still have under 80k miles the dealer should put in a new one.

hmm i do have an extended warranty...

i'm gonna go do the research on that.

xrunner, thanks for the info, i found a couple for about $130-145. that's what i was worried about for the ones on ebay, not passing emissions or something.

carsound makes quality stuff. ask around. they are so cheap becuase they prob sell more cats then anybody else. especially for oe replacement. you will have absolutely no probs with a carsound cat. you can go to magnaflows website for info. im pretty sure they own them now.
