car shakes @ 70mph
well i took my 2.3cl to my mech. and told him what's wrong. The front end shakes at over 70mph and if i lightly touch the brakes it becomes worst, It even pulls to one side.
So he check it and say it could be that the driver side caliper is a little sticky or the brake line is faulty.
Could a stick caliper cause this problem? and do i need to replace the caliper or can it be fixed? (he said it needs to be replaced = $500 total: change caliper and replace both rotors w/ labor)
thanx for any help provided

Warper rotors or unbalanced tires. Dont believe everything your mechanic says. He wants more work -> more money from you. After he changes your brake lines and the problem persists he will tell you your engine is blown.

ok, well if u live on the west coast, try taking it to a Les Schwab, because a complete brake job is around 200. New calipers, rotors, and flushed system all the way around. But you can check ur tires, look if there is a bulge on one of them, if so u need a new tire ASAP. Check ur balance, sumtimes if u have tape weights they can come off. Check ur suspension. and check ur brakes see if there is anything wrong with them, one caliper going in before the other side.

I had the bent rim, on the inside from a pot hole. Then, I knew my rotors were warped, had them changed. Then I still had the problem with brand new tires. It turned out that my driver side front rim was off ballance by .5 grams. that is a tiny amount of weight, but it made a hell of a difference. Oh, I didn't do all the other stuff trying to fix the vibration, it all needed to be done, but after all that, I had the vibration and it was the weight. The symptom was a mild gitter in the steering wheel. And yes, under breaking it was worse.
Good Luck.
Oh yeah, It was not the allignment in my case, even before getting the weight fixed, the car road straight down the road. And it still rides straight down the road, but without vibration.
