My sister's car decided to stop turning over today. Electrically, it seemed fine. It just wouldnt click on though. Any ideas guys?

Ps - its a 97 2.2 auto.

wasnt there a recall for the starters?? check to see if it was done, might be able to get a free one out of acura

 

 

i JUST payed 139.00 for one not too long ago. I got it at autozone. It was the cheapest one they had. The next one up was 199.00 and it was actual OEM Denso starters...The cheap one is a little louder, but it starts the car, i dont really care,

Ands it soooooo easy to do to...2 bolts, the bottom one is a little bigger of bolt. 2 plugs and it just pulls out...Its right on top of your engine to the left of your header...You dont even have to go under the car. It will save you a bunch of money cuyz a mechanic will probaly chage you another 120 bucks to put it in and it would be the OEM part at 199.99..Thats 320 bucks....For what a 140 bucks and 20 minutes of your day

check the ground first.. follow it from the battery to the car. and check and make sure both the + and - battery terminals are on tight.

 

like swervin stated, they are pretty easy to install. i installed one in my old teg at night. i thought they were going to be more than $150 or $200 but it turned out to be only like $120. hopefully ur mechanically inclined.

have you had the battery tested at autozone, or somewhere similiar, the battery could be dead

 

Funny how I just wrote a short little blurb obout this same kinda thing... bet it is the battery... Will it Jump start from your car Alex?

and no, we tried jumping it yesterday from one of those portable jump starters and nada..

It could either be your starter, battery, or alternator.

Check if it's the alternator by getting another batter and putting in on her car. While the car is on remove the negative off the battery. If it turns off, it's you alternator. If it stays on, then it's your batter. If none work, then it could be your starter. Hope this helps.

 

Is ur sister ok? LOL btw i have a nice new starter and alternator sitting in my car waiting to come out by this week...
