Car Battery
i have an in dash dvd player in my car
when the car is off and im watching a movie the battery only lasts for about 30 minutes then dies and i have to get it jumped.
Is this right or should the battery last longer? how much longer?
thanks in advance

That sounds about right and is definitely not good for the battery or the alternator. It might be worth it to invest in an optima yellow top although I don't know how much extra time that would really give you.

i think it should last a little longer but i've had pretty good batteries in mine, i'd usually do the exact same thing with my interstate battery and it was fine
btw an optima yellow top has a reserve time of 120 minutes, but buying one may be costly depending on where you live........ but that is what i run in my car and it's great

Get an optima yellow top, or another deep cycle battery

If its just an in-dash DVD player on ACC, you should be able to get a couple hours out of a quality, normally charged battery. I have left my radio on an entire day and my car started normally. I have what looks like a faily new NAPA in my 2.3. Our cars have somewhat oversized batteries in them. you can witness this by looking at any new(er) accord or TSX's battery that now use..

compared to our 24's which have a bit more reserve and CCA...
