i have already done this to my car. i took the resonator chambers out. the air is now coming from under-neath the car instead of the engine bay. i cant comment on the performance side though because i have no scientific data on the performance gain or lost.

yeah but you gonna have to clean your filter way too often, cuz when it get too dirty it doesn't work as well. I remember removing my resonator for only a few weeks and the white filter turned black sucking up all kinds of dirt, leaves etc etc.

How often shoudl you clean your CAI filter? what should i use to clean it with?? ( i dont have AEM) Infact, i donno what the hell kinda filter i have...

I have a K & N filter on my CAI.
I clean mine every other oil change (6k miles) with the K&N recharger kit. You can find the kit at Auto Zone for like $10. Not sure on what to use if u have a generic filter.

K&N says you don't have to clean it that often. I think they say somethin like 30,000 miles or so. I could be wrong. I replaced the k&n filter on my aem cai and replaced it with a better k&n high performance filter from a catalog. Maybe mine has different specs, i dunno. But if you do clean it make sure to get the kit.
