well i dont know about that cam gears, would like to know too, but as far as "throwing them on" its similar to anything bolt on engine wise. You can put them on, but to get the most HP out of it, you would want to tune your engine. You dont need to, but it is best so you dont F anything up.

I dont think anything bolt on gives the 2.x's significant gains. From what I was told, if you change the cam, you have to change the camshafts because the lighter cams with the stock shafts wont run as good. You can just slap them on but I think someone here said the UR pulley sees more gains. Let us know how it comes out after you do it.

First off I disagree with Pebecl97, You can bolt on a zex nitrous system and see some nice gains.... "Trust me I did before I swapped out my f22b1 for an h22" second, you can throw on a cam gear and you will not have to get another cam shaft. The purpose of the cam gear is just to take any unneccessary slack out of your timing belt, and no you will not see any significant gains..

I wasnt including juice obviously, i meant normal engine bolt ons. Adding nitrous of course will show u gains, but i dont really consider that a bolt on. the cam gear is more for show than anything else.

the cam gear is more for show if you are going to cut away the cover so you show it....... and I guess you were talking about your average bolt on's ie. CAI, Headers etc....

Yup, thats what I meant. Nitrous is the only significant bolt on you can feel on the 2.x, unfortunately. Thats why I've given up "modding" my CL. intake, header and suspension and not much improvement, its just not a fast car and Ive learned to live with it. Still love my car though, just not going to dump any more money into it.

well there is only one cam on the 2.xs so you would only need one gear. and you don't see significant gains unless you have an aggressive cam. or maybe if you have to retard it with a crap laod if nitrous. pebe is right pulleys get you more gains. that would be a better buy. IMO
