CAI intake question!
CAI intake question!
I was told that since AEM doesn't make a specific CAI for the 98 2.3 CL, that the accord one works that same. But ive heard that we need to get the 97 accord CAI (which is a 2.2L engine). One of my other CL buddys said to check into the one for the 98 accord because it is also a 2.3L engine like mine. Which one should i buy?
Also, if i get a CAI is there any kind of modification i need to make besides just removing the existing intake system and installing the cold air? does the ECU need to be re-programmed? and does it confuse the mass airflow sensor?

first, CAI: the I means intake, so no need to put "CAI intake"
just had to get that out, but i'd just stick with the 97 accord intake. Just like saying for the 3.0, "Can I get a 2004 Accord 3.0L intake?" It has the same amount of liters, but the horsepower is different, a different engine type. 3.0CL has j30a1, the 04 accord I believe has a j30a3 or a4, so I don't think that they work.
And to answer the bottom, I believe that you have to disconnect your battery for 10 mins, then hook it back up to reset your ECU. Am i correct?

As to not confuse you get the 94-97 accord CAI.
if you want you can buy mine. it is 4 months old. check my www link for pictures it is blue. let me know if you want it.
you need to remove the stock air box and the resonator below it. which sits inside the passenger side wheel well.
if you have your stock radio, then write down the security code which should be a sticker with 5 numbers on it located in your manual stuck somewhere... under the fuse box cover, on the side of the glove box, in the truck... a number of places but those are the common ones.
disconnect the battery when you start installation.
finish up the install reconnect battery and turn on engine... do not rev engine let it idle for about 10 minutes while ECU resets itself.
the hum is normal from a CAI.
