CAI install cutting?

Someone before told me that if i ever got a CAI for my CL i would need to cut or remove something in the engine bay? some sort of cover or liner or something? anyone wanna help me in detail?

There is no cutting of anything. You do need to remove the stock airbox pieces that includes the resonator stuff.

you wouldnt have to do anything out of the normal unless you have a 97 2.2... if you do i will go further into detal but its nothing major not even close

Generic from ebay i think its called BOMZ? total came out to like 65.09

gonna get K&N filter tomorrow i dont wanna use the shitty one it comes with

o yeah ive seen some threads before of people doing that, are K&N filters expensive? where are you getting yours from?

friend works part time at Kragen's

they retail for like close to 50 bucks a filter but are well worth it qaulity wise.

no no san jose... i work at checker (same company as kragens) crack open that k&n filter book and get a color keyed filter like this one.... mines on a ebay tube... oh and 58$ you got taken mine was like 30 shipped

yeah it was my crotch rocket.. san jose, my buddy bought a cai from that compnay like 3 weeks ago for his svt contour .. it seems to be ok but my filters the coolest looking and its a little louder

im installing for a 3.0 tho so does anyone know if i have to cutt anything in the 3.0?

is the only thing different from the short ram and cai is that the cai is a longer tube to get air from the bottom because its cooler?

cold air goes down into the fender behind bumper. short ram sits right over the whole.

That's why I was respondung to SLooo97cl.....not you.
and all the parts of the stock intake stuff have to be removed.
it's common knowledge that when installing an intake ALL parts of the stock intake should be removed. even the box inside your fender.

why would you have to take the box out from inside the fender if you have a short ram... tubes run from behind the bumper to right next to the filter...
