A/C question

The whole time I've had my car for 2 years I've never really noticed this. Today I had to drive my mom somewhere and I usually roll windows down but you know mom's shes like its too hot in here blah blah blah. So I put the A/C on just put 70 degress on the thing and thats it. And then shes like is the A/C even on? Im like ya whats the problem. I was fine it felt fine to me i hate having air blow on me anyways. Sooo then I hit the A/C ON button and the air started flying out and turn the fans up. My mom was like oh there ya go im like an A/C :noob: i barely ever use it i like fresh air when im driving. But anyways what the hell was I doin this whole time just putting it on 70 degrees was that even A/C?

the tempereature that u set the climate control will decipher whether the a/c wil be used or the heater just like a thermostat in a home or office. i dont remeber what temperatures will use what system (a/c, heater).
