Bypass valve

Hey I was thinking about swapping out my short ram for a CAI. The noise is getting to me and it will do more with a CAI. My question is how effective is the bypass valve? Here in miami it has rained for about 6 weeks straight. I am not going to risk blowing an engine for a couple horsepower!

NO SHIT DUDE! This rain down here has sucked ass....i'm in orlando & it's been just as bad. I'm installing my AEM CAI this weekend w/ the bypass.....from what i've heard, it's very effective...i've heard of bypass valve tests done where the entire filter was submerged and it didn't suck in any water because of the valve.....let me know if i'm wrong!!!
i wouldn't chance it w/out a bypass valve:o

it has been raining in Tampa, Fl. like crazy too...fortunately i dont have to worry about an intake cuz i have turbo...lol
anyway..the bypass valve is very effective..the only down side to it is that you will lose a little power as apposed to when the CAI doesnt have the bypass valve.....IMO..the bypass valve is worth it

well then if you are going to lose some power, is it still worth it to get the CAI with the bypass?

you get more power with the CAI and the bypass valve than you do with the short ram....but you dont get as much power as you would with just the CAI (without bypass valve)
it is definitely worth it

check this place out for a CAI

www.nleonline.com

cheap and has overnight shipping included in the price.

i've had an AEM CAI on without a bypass valve for a long time and always drive in heavy rain -no problem. i drive through puddles also but they are always on the right side of the road when it rains and our CAI is on the left.

For a 98 3.0 I'd need to get an intake for a 98-01 V6 Accord right?
Sorry for asking the question that has been answered a billion times.
I don't know why I forgot.

I just ordered from them & they did a great job.

4-banger CLs have the intake on the right side, so about the CAI being on the left hand side, you 3.0s are lucky! I hit every puddle on the road....well, on the right side of the road that is
